Pick-up from Itanagar or Naharlagun Railway Station and drive to the picturesque Ziro Valley (approx. 4-5 hours). Ziro is a UNESCO World Heritage site candidate known for its stunning pine-clad hills and rice fields. Check-in at your hotel/homestay and enjoy a relaxed evening. Overnight stay in Ziro.
Spend the day visiting the indigenous Apatani tribal villages—Hong, Dutta, and Hari. Witness the unique facial tattoos and nose plugs of the elders, and learn about their traditional sustainable agricultural practices and social customs. Visit the local craft center and see traditional weaving. Overnight stay in Ziro.
Embark on a day trip to the Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. Enjoy a guided jungle walk through the dense forests rich in biodiversity, including rare orchids and the clouded leopard (elusive). Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst nature before returning to Ziro. Overnight stay in Ziro.
Visit the Tribal Museum to understand the heritage of the region's tribes. Later, walk through the serene Bamboo Grove and visit the local craft center. Spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps cycling through the paddy fields or exploring the local market for handwoven souvenirs. Overnight stay in Ziro.
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Itanagar. If time permits, visit the Gompa Buddhist Temple or Ita Fort. Transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey with beautiful memories of the Apatani people.
